2020 Arizona Seminar FAQ

Q. Will there be an on-ice session?

A. No. There will be no on-ice sessions for Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, or Level 4 seminars for the 2020-21 season.

Q. Will in-person seminars be available later in the season?

A. No. All seminars for the 2020-21 seminar will be conducted remotely using the Zoom meeting platform.

Q. How will I take the closed book exam?

A. Officials will receive an email from USA Hockey within 24 hours of completing their seminar which will include instructions on accessing the “closed book” exam. The “closed book” exam must be completed within 7 days of being granted access. The “closed book” exam must be completed in a single sitting and there is a three-hour time limit.

Q. Can I attend a seminar in a different state?

A. Yes. Most seminars across the country are being conducted remotely using the Zoom meeting platform. This allows officials the flexibility to attend a seminar outside of their home state. Attending an out-of-state seminar remotely may be a good option if the Arizona seminar dates do not work with your schedule. Officials may also opt for an out-of-state seminar for a “change in scenery” if they have been attending Arizona seminars for the past decade.

Q. Do I need a camera to attend the seminar?

A. Yes. It is required that you have a camera enable for the entire seminar in order to earn seminar credit.
